About Nutrition and Health Articles

Our articles about nutrition, health benefits of foods, recipes, and nutrition myths are evidenced-based and written by Licensed and Registered Dietitian Nutritionists.

We talk at length about nutrition because it’s, in our opinion, the catalyst for improving our health and feeling really good, too. Scientific research is still uncovering the many ways our bodies are affected by our gut microbiota and microbiome, stress, inflammation, genetics, and lifestyle. Our food choices signal messages to the cells in our body and mind, which impacts our sense of self, how we feel, and ultimately how we show up in this world.

Our food philosophy is about teaching you how to cultivate a positive relationship with food by focusing on nutrient-density and responsibly sourced food. There are no diets here, just practical and sustainable ways to nourish yourself.

About Lifestyle Articles

Nourishment is food, but it’s also stress management, mental health, emotional health, and spiritual health. Nourishment can come in the form of nutrients, laughter, movement, love, connection with ourselves, and it’s the full picture. Dive deeper into our pillars of health and how to apply them in real life, in Membership Academy.

Our articles about lifestyle and health practices are about the art of healthy living, the experience, and personal stories. These articles are a mix of opinion-based and evidenced-based.

About Our Recipes

We believe food should nourish your cells and recipes based on plants are the best vehicles for nutrition—we also really just like good food, too.

Under the Recipes section, you’ll find hundreds of delicious recipes all using plant-based whole food ingredients, that are worth the effort to make yet most of them are super simple to make. We like to focus on foods from the earth and knowing the source of your food, but also get that you need a level of convenience so we help you find the next best option.

Our recipes are for everyone and very flexible. At their core they’re gluten-free, dairy-free, and plant-based — this allows you to make the meal work for you by adding proteins of your choice and other ingredients that your body thrives on. Cooking this way is a great foundation to make sure you’re consuming the incredible phytonutrients and fiber from plants that we typically don’t get enough of.

We Have Offerings and Work With Great Brands

At SelfCare with Milly, our company sells proprietary products (education programs, coaching, memberships, merch), and we also engage in sponsored collaborations to help support our efforts with our growing team, website, and other investments needed to make SelfCareWithMilly.com a heavily free resource.

Offerings: Coaching, Programs, and Memberships.

Sponsored Content

At , we’re proud to work with sponsors and partners that are fully aligned with our mission — providing education and products that can be part of a healthy lifestyle. That means, we say no, far more than we say yes to opportunities because they don’t meet our standard. Sponsored content does provide financial support to SelfCare with Milly, but more importantly, it helps educate our community of the latest products and resources they can use in their lifestyle to improve their health, add convenience by making healthy eating simple, and can provide a stepping stone into making optimal health choices as one’s journey progresses.

SelfCare with Milly has full control of the editorial and social media content that is shared regarding sponsored content. With all sponsored content, we abide by all FTC policies and disclaimers notifying our community when content is a paid partnership.

We clearly communicate sponsored content with our community in the editorial by disclosing in the content “This article is in partnership with X— we only engage in sponsored opportunities and partner with brands that are SelfCare with Milly approved. All our opinions are authentic and remain our own.” On social media, all sponsored content is labeled one of the following FTC disclaimers “#sponsored, #ad, #advertising”, or utilizing the paid feature.

Affiliate Content

We may link to food products, healthy living products, or books—all of which we make a small percentage of commission on if the product is purchased through our affiliate link.

Our online “shop” includes products with affiliate links. The links we share for affiliate products do not mean SelfCare with Milly endorses said product. Read more about our privacy policy, terms and conditions, and affiliates.

Payment Plan Policy

It is important to understand that payment plans are not subscriptions to any digital content, nor does a payment plan allow you to “pay in part” for access to certain modules and cancel once you have been granted access.

Payment plans are simply provided as a convenience to you in order to allow for your financial flexibility. Whether you pay in full or pay according to a selected payment plan, your commitment to any Product product is for a twelve-month period.

For example:

  • If you select the payment plan for the Master My SelfCare Academy, your card will be charged the first payment of $150 USD when you register and subsequent payments of $150 USD will automatically be charged on the same day of the month for 11 consecutive months, totaling $1800 USD.

If you default on a payment required by your payment plan, your account status will be considered as “delinquent” and we will immediately suspend access to all Product Materials (as that term is defined below) until your account is fully paid as required by your payment plan and these Terms and Conditions. If your account is not brought into good standing within thirty (30) days of the date of the missed payment, we reserve the right to report the defaulted payment and any remaining balance to a credit reporting bureau and/or collections agency.
