Losing weight is no easy feat, and it’s not uncommon for women to become discouraged when results take too long to come.
 
Acknowledge the difficulty of sustaining a routine and the difficulty of staying motivated in situations like these (especially during the holidays). It's going to take some time to drop this weight.
 
Don’t be too hard on yourself when you don’t immediately see the results you want. It is easy to fixate on our insecurities and feel like it is us against the world. The truth is that lasting results take time, motivation, effort and consistency.
 
A lot of times we expect results too soon and when they don’t come we abandon our routine with the hope that something else over there will give us the results we want to see.
 

Embrace Healthy Habits

Be encouraged to ditch fad diets and restrictive eating habits. You will have better results in the long run if you give yourself permission to live as normally as you want and just reduce certain aspects of your lifestyle.
 

Give Yourself Time for Self-Care

Take some time each week to do something that relaxes you and renews your energy. That can mean having a massage, yoga, listening to music or a simple walk in the park. This will help you feel recharged and prove to yourself that you deserve time for yourself, despite what is shown in the media.

1. Make simple food swaps. Instead of reaching for that snack bar full of sugar, try having a piece of fresh fruit with some almond butter or homemade oatmeal instead. Every small effort impacts your weight loss journey and can get you closer to the results you have been waiting for.
 
2. Incorporate strength training into your regime. Strength training helps preserve muscle mass which will help speed up your metabolism, resulting in faster weight loss. A personal trainer can help teach you how to perform strength training exercises effectively and safely.
