TSSD #15: Treat Yourself How You Treat Others

As the fresh year starts, it is time for us as women to recognize our own importance and start prioritizing our own health, and that includes taking time for self-love and self-care.
Unfortunately, it is all too easy for us to put ourselves last and always focus on taking care of others first.
This can often lead to a personally damaging cycle of undervaluing our own needs and jumping into harsh dieting trends or restrictions in order to ‘change’ ourselves.
Let’s start by changing that harmful cycle to one that is beneficial and energizing.
Why not approach the upcoming year with self-love, kindness and an appreciation of how amazing each and every one of us are?
Treat Yourself How You Treat Others.
- Be sure to start out by setting real expectations, not too much that cannot be met.
- Make small goals and practice getting used to them by adding healthy habits in slowly with your everyday life.
- Don’t give up if you don’t see immediate results! Worthwhile change is made through determination and strong willpower.
Focus on a Realistic Nutrition Plan and Eating Routine (instead of crash diets or quick fixes).
- Speak with a nutritionist who can assist in creating a plan tailored to your lifestyle, health and goals.
- Remember, when it comes to nutrition, there is no one-size-fits-all approach and having someone who is qualified to help you on your journey will make a huge difference.
Self-Care Includes Emotional Health Too.
- This can be as simple as preparing nourishing meals, doing yoga or treating yourself to a massage.
- Make sure to make some time for yourself each day or each week and commit to it as you would any other appointment in your calendar.
Paying attention to the things that bring you joy and enthusiasm is part of increasing the self-love that can be incredibly helpful in meeting health goals.
So remember this year, to treat yourself how you treat others.
Self-love is the key to lasting success and no one else can do it for you.
