TSSD #11: Try this Holistic Approach to Weight Loss
Dec 03, 2022Read time: 2 minutes
The start of a new year usually comes with a fervor of new resolutions, and many women focus on losing weight. But chances are there’s more to your health than a few extra pounds.
Let’s get creative and look for sustainable, holistic approaches to health and wellness.
It’s time to do away with the idea of a “diet” or ”resolution” and think about making small, manageable changes that you can incorporate into your daily life.
I’m going to share with you 3 tips for weight loss that focus on food.
Tip #1
Reduce processed and packaged food as much as possible. We have all become used to convenience foods, but processed foods are often higher in sodium, sugar, and unhealthy fats. Whenever you can, choose natural, whole foods.
Tip #2
Focus on adding more vegetables to each meal. We all need the recommended 5 portions of vegetables per day and the more color, the better. Eating vegetables gives you essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber. It helps your body stay healthy, so don’t forget to include plenty of vegetables when planning meals.
Tip #3
Drink plenty of water while reducing sugary beverages. Sugary drinks, such as soda and juice, are packed with a lot of calories and no nutrients. Opt for water instead and if you want something with flavor, diluted fruit juice can also be a healthier option.
We all want to feel good in the coming year, so rather than focus on resolutions, let's take the time to develop a plan for the road ahead.
And remember, it’s all about making small changes in the right direction.
So let’s start this year off on the right foot by focusing on physical and mental health
